Background: The Touraine Oisly appellation lies between the Loire and Cher rivers. Its climate is primarily semi-continental, with some maritime influences. Its proximity to the river ensures fresh air. The soil here is unique: a layer of Sologne sand overlays a clay layer. Starting in spring, this sand absorbs and dissipates heat, nourishing the vines while simultaneously draining water into the underlying clay, providing ample moisture. The result is a wine with a fresh aroma, a rich palate, and a long finish, achieving a perfect balance.
Tasting Notes: This wine departs from the classic Sauvignon Blanc style, offering notes of vanilla and wood from the barrel, along with charming flavors of ripe citrus fruit. A rich, full-bodied Sauvignon Blanc with a long, lingering finish. It's an impressive pairing with smoked fish, foie gras, aged cheese, and a variety of Asian cuisines.
