Background: Traminer has a long and complex history, with each of its traditional growing regions providing a different name and local history for the Traminer family. The color and flavor of Traminer wines vary greatly depending on the subset to which they belong, the most prominent example is undoubtedly Gewurztraminer, which produces some of the most aromatic wines. Less well known is the deep pink-skinned Roter Traminer, which produces an aromatic white wine, sometimes with a hint of pink. In 2000, the famous French agronomist Pierre Galet revealed that White Traminer is actually the same variety as Savagnin Blanc.
Tasting Notes: A beautiful straw-yellow color, with subtle citrus flavors in harmony with hard-core fruit flavors, and a beautiful mineral flavor that gives it depth. Light and complex, with subtle floral notes and hints of yeast that add depth and length to the palate.
