La Colombine

La Colombine is a brand belonging to Château Les Graves de Viaud, a family-owned winery located in the Côtes de Bourg. It was taken over in 2010 by Philippe Betschart and his mother, Françoise. Previously unrelated to wine, they decided to reconnect with their Bordeaux roots and transform the winery into a biodynamic farming operation. In 2014, they launched the "La Colombine" brand, which includes natural wines made from their own grapes and white grapes supplied by partners. All wines are organically certified, with the red wines also holding Demeter certification.

The winery employs biodynamic vineyards across 15 hectares, including 5.5 hectares of south-facing clay-gravel soil vineyards, demonstrating a commitment to environmentally friendly agriculture. In addition to obtaining organic and biodynamic certifications, the winery practices conservation farming, avoids using animal manure, and employs natural winemaking methods without adding any winemaking additives or animal products. Upholding an innovative spirit and respect for nature, the winery produces pure and unique wines. The La Colombine brand, on the other hand, offers more experimental options that break away from traditional Bordeaux wines.
